為了永留逐漸消逝的敦煌第三窟元代觀音壁畫

多年來，楊惠姍使用各種材質雕塑立體重現

千手千眼觀音的行腳紀錄，於亞洲巡迴展出已超過十八年

從敦煌、上海、台北、台中，到新加坡，西安法門寺

再到高雄佛光緣美術館、佛陀紀念館普陀洛伽山觀音殿、香港、大連……

藝術家傾注生命，無私的創作熱情

已締造了千百萬人次的感動……

她的最終目標，是以「琉璃」材質

燒製出一尊四百五十公分高的千手千眼觀音

這是她的「今生大願」

就敦煌的佛教文化傳承意義上，是宏大壯觀的

就現實塵俗價值上，是艱困非常的

 

現階段已完成1米及2米琉璃千手千眼觀音的燒製

是目前全世界最大的琉璃脫蠟鑄造觀音造像

 

楊惠姍一步一步地向前走著

每一步都是壯麗而歡喜的

Guanyin of One Thousand Arms and Eyes has been on exhibition across Asia for over 18 years.

From Dunhuang, Shanghai, Taipei, Taichung, Singapore and the Famen Temple in Xi'an to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum in Kaohsiung, and Buddha Memorial Hall on Mount Putuo, from Hong Kong to Dalian, the artist's selfless devotion into this creation and its journey has allowed it to touch hundreds of thousands of hearts.

Loretta H. Yang's Wish of a Lifetime is expected to reach a new height of 450 cm in 18 years. A three-dimensional liuli statue recreated to preserve an eroding turn of the century mural from the 3rd grotto of Dunhuang's Mogao Caves, this marks a significant event in Dunhuang's Buddhist culture timeline. In both scope and expense, it is an inspiring mission.
