"I look at the sky more than anything for inspiration, perhaps because this is the source of light in our world. In particular, I look at the way light is transmitted through objects, for example clouds or ice. I try to distill the essence of the things that inspire me rather that to represent them through my work."

Bruno Romanelli's work focuses on three elements – color, form and light. He uses geometric shapes to expound on life's many questions. Through each piece, the artist's mastery of kilncast glass is palpable. Bruno Romanelli's command of the technique is flawless and leaves no room for chance.

His work is quite extraordinary. Look at the shapes. They are round, rectangular or pillar shaped. Even after three decades working with glass, you can feel the joy in his work. See how these geometric shapes solidified in transparent and translucent glass interact with light to create unique visual effects. Bruno Romanelli is a true creative and is always looking forward. These sculptures here show one object within another. For example, a cylinder can be found within this sphere. He joins two incongruous objects and presents it as a harmonious unit. It resembles an ancient Chinese artifact, but one imbued with light. The result is an object of both traditional and contemporary beauty.
