The heart is like a mirror that originally has light, but the dust of our ignorance and troubles has obscured the original light of the mirror. Therefore, we need to use wise practice to wipe away the dust until there is no darkness at all.
"Like a mirror on the stage", the heart is like a bright mirror. "Reflected according to the environment." According to the external realm, the ancients said: "Hu come and come, and Han come and Han appear." In ancient times, foreigners were called barbarians. When foreigners walked in front of a mirror, the mirror appeared. The image of a foreigner. "Han" refers to us Chinese people. What Chinese people see in front of the mirror is the image of Chinese people. In fact, there are no Han or Hu in the mirror. The mirror is empty and empty. It shows phenomena according to the realm. Although it changes with the state, "it remains the same as before and does not change with the state." It only reflects the external realm, and the external realm cannot change it. Because it is always immobile, clean and spotless; the heart is also like a mirror.
We modern people are very pitiful, and we follow the external world; our eyes are driven by colors when we see them; our ears are driven by sounds when we hear sounds. Can't decide at all. The ancients compared such a person to an old ox, being led by others with a rope and having no control over his own heart. The mirror hand reminds us that if our mind does not change with circumstances, it will be spotless.
