費茲．艾爾森Fiaz Elson曾在Colin Reid大師工作室工作3年，2019年入圍了英國玻璃雙年展。她的作品可以清楚的意識到空間和構造，色彩，紋理，都是為了向觀者傳達出一種能量，可能是充滿生命活力的喜悅，也可能是嚴肅的生死議題。特別是色彩在她的作品佔有重要的地位以及象徵意義。

Fiaz Elson was Colin Reid's senior assistant for three years. In 2019, she was selected for the British Glass Biennale. Her work is a clear representation of space and construct. Her use of color and pattern is all to communicate a certain energy. This energy could be vibrant joy. It could also be the gravity of life and death. She uses color symbolically.

 

例如作品Oracle，紫色代表力量，是一種強烈的顏色，在14世紀英國的文化中，是皇家、貴族的顏色。在古羅馬希臘故事中，人們認為神諭是神靈直接與人交談的門戶，有預言之意，是一切智慧的源泉，其中隱含著生與死的智慧，也是對人生意義的追尋。從作品的光影折射，令人感受到一股神秘的崇高力量。

Take Oracle for example. Purple symbolizes power. In 14th century England it was the color of the royal family and aristocracy. In ancient Greek mythology, people believed oracles held a direct line of communication with the spirits. They offered predictions and were seen as the wellspring of knowledge. Oracles were the prophets of life and death. The artist's use of light and shadow creates space for the existence of a mystical and higher power.

"While Cast Glass techniques has its roots in Egyptian Alchemy and one of the first scientific investigations into the material make up of the universe. Its expressive quality and cultural significance has always evolved with us, from Stained Glass depictions of deity to architectural pillars that deify engineering and the future prospects of digital and light interaction. I am endlessly fascinated by the material, as I said this is more of an ongoing study and experimentation for me."
